The archiveFunded by the Scott Trust Foundation the Guardian News and Media's archive preserves and promotes the histories and values of the Guardian and the Observer newspapers and websites through collecting, recording, researching and making accessible material that provides an accurate and comprehensive history of Guardian News and Media. guardian.co.uk ![]() A searchable version of the archive catalogue is available: newsroom archive catalogue Archive collections The archive collects and preserves original and unique documents that record the story behind the published newspapers - the Guardian, the Observer and guardian.co.uk. As well as the official papers of the organisations the archive actively seeks to acquire material from people who have been associated with the Guardian, the Observer or guardian.co.uk. Our collections contain correspondence, diaries, notebooks, original sketches and photographs. There are extensive photographic libraries for both papers containing prints and negatives by staff photographers. An oral history project has been undertaken to record the memories and work experiences of people who have worked for either the Guardian or the Observer over the last 70 years. These range from an Observer printer who started in the composing room in the 1920s to more recent star columnists. Generally archival material will be made available for research purposes as soon as cataloguing is completed: Printable version | Send it to a friend | Clip | ||||||||||||||||||||
